Colonel Grant greeted the officers as they came in, asking them to take a seat as they did so. Several stopped to salute, which he returned with a smile, and had them sit down. Sam caught himself laughing inside, the saluting thing was gonna get to him, he could see it. He’d have to remember to send out an order to cease that action, unless on formal occasions… That and ‘Colonel on the Bridge’ every time he walked onto the Bridge. But procedure was procedure, the joy, however, was that this was his ship and he could change it.
As all the officers sat around the table, he noticed that his Diplomatic Officer was still missing, but knowing that he’d be here soon, he wasn’t worried. Sam picked up the PADD and punched in a couple codes and information, then sat the PADD back down; hard.
“Change of plans.” He said simply. “We have 36 hrs, less as that time block was given about 20 minutes ago, to depart the station and sector.” He could tell, just by the looks on their faces, how he looked only a few minutes prior. It was factually impossible to have the ship in 100% condition in that time, they were already running almost 1,000 people aboard dedicated to getting the Cold Harbor up to snuff, and projections still had repairs over a week out. The week wasn’t so bad, as according to their original orders, they still have 5 days. But 36 hrs, or rather 35 ½ now, a mere day and a half; wasn’t gonna happen.
“We’ve received orders from CRV Fleet Command to raise anchor, as an issue has come up that requires our response…” Sam leaned back in the large lounge chair “Believe it or not, out of the 15 ships assigned to the CRV Fleet; we’re in the best shape. In addition, they specifically wanted a ‘capital’ ship to respond to this call; that’s us.” Sam kept his composure fairly well, but he wasn’t an idiot, he was a realist; no matter what, no matter how hard everyone worked, even if they did nothing but work for the next 36 hrs, they were going to be departing well under 100% efficiency.
“So, here’s what we’re going to do. I am well aware that we will not be at peak proficiency in this time frame; I will not hold anyone that impossibility. However, we are still leaving and now have a mission to undertake. So first, here’s what ‘we’ know…” Sam retrieved the PADD he had and activated a few options, a holographic display appeared in the center of the table, the display picture was about a meter (3 ft) tall.
“Starfleet Security was running ‘tests’ at a classified base 30 light years from here on a planet in the Revoirnik System. What kind of testing I was not told.” Which was true, CRV Command wasn’t willing to give up all the information, which Sam had found pretty frustrating. “The USS Bellemont, a Nebula Class Starship, was transporting ‘important material’ to this location when contact was lost first with the starship; then quickly followed by the outpost. Due to the secrecy of the ‘testing’, Starfleet Security doesn’t want to involve Starfleet as a whole at this time. This will be the ‘angle’ of a lot of our missions, so don’t look so surprised. This way, Starfleet can still deal with situations that arise and we can generally keep the ‘panic’ to a minimum.” He said, laying the PADD back down.
“This will not, as I said, be easy; nor is it the way I thought we’d start out. However, orders are orders.” Retrieving the PADD, he brought up what he was aware of as far as repairs went. “I doubt that things have improved much in the last 4 hours since I received this updated ‘repair list’, or rather ‘repair encyclopedia’, I’ve tried to go through and assign the necessary duties that need to be accomplished, and I know that we don’t have the time to repair everything.” Sam had gone through the roster and the repair list, and assigned a ‘group of repairs’ to each crewmember, in the hopes of getting some system online. Even though the majority of these things fell under the Engineering Chief’s purview; this just wanted enough time for him to do it all, even with their high intelligence.
Samuel scrolled down through the list, starting with Engineering “Mr. Murkeye, I understand that although we have main power through our umbilical cords to the Starbase, that Warp Drive, Slip Stream, Battery Back Up and the Auxiliary Core are inoperative. Warp Drive is an obvious necessity; however, if you could get other systems running by then, every bit will be helpful.”
“Major Arishela, repair/request list shows that; only half the security detail is aboard and accounted for, that we have less then half the amount of phaser rifles, hand phasers, body armor and other ‘repelling’ equipment that we need, internal security systems are down along with computer security systems. Please prioritize and get done what you can.” He continued to move along the list.
“Mr. Grax, repair/request list shows that; the entire phaser array is down, that alone is almost 12 systems, along with the torpedo launchers, again all 4 of these are down, inventory also shows that we have none of our quantum torpedoes, less then half of our photon torpedoes and none of our ‘tri-cobalt’ weapons, systems are also showing automatic targeting is down. Same thing, make a list, get done what you can.” He scrolled down again.
“Doctor, repair/request list shows, and I saw sadly, that Sickbay is by no means ready to accept patients; the majority of your bio beds are inoperative, your surgical bays down, you’ve got half the medical supplies you need, your staff isn’t aboard yet and the majority of the medical equipment is still waiting to be shipped over, not to mention that your place needs to be sterilized. Get me a list of what you need the most, and we’ll get done what we can.” He scrolled down again.
“Sgt. Major, you’re marines are aboard, however the repair/request list shows that most of the equipment isn’t, they don’t have their body armor, only one of their 3 transport ships are here and the one that is isn’t flyable, you’re short on munitions and medical staff medic supplies; obviously. Make a list.” He continued on down the list.
“Lieutenant D’Nal, repair/request list shows; shields are down, internal sensors are down, external sensors are down, long range sensors are down, ablative armor is nonfunctional and not completely installed yet, internal force fields are only partially working and external deflector shielding is down, communications are less the reliable. Prioritize repairs and get done what you can.” Sighing, as he continued on, he knew this wasn’t going to be the best ‘first mission’ he’d ever been on.
“Lieutenant Saito, repair/request list shows; impulse engines off line, thrusters inoperative, emergency maneuvering ability non-functional, navigational systems are ‘iffy’ and the deflector dish is malfunctioning. See what you can get working.” He scrolled down some more.
“Captain Danrea, repair/request list show that your fighters have arrived, but you’re having issues with one of them, you missing two pilots who haven’t beamed aboard yet, less then half your munitions are aboard… Actually I think you’re in the best shape…” Sam smiled, this was at least some good news “However, you’ve got another mission you’re gonna need to do. In addition to seeing what you can get done in the next few hours, I’m relying on you and your pilots to fly a CAP around the Cold Harbor from the minute we depart until we’re 100%. The Cold Harbor’s going to rely on you for long range recon and close quarters protection because even at our best, we’re not going to be able to defend ourselves as good as we could.” Sam laid the PADD down.
“Lastly, Mr. Tyler.” Said Sam, seeing that he’d come in during the briefing. “We will be departing without an Executive Officer, we don’t have the time to wait for one. As the role of the XO is to help ‘compliment’ the CO by being their conscience and ‘checks and balance system’; I can think of no one better to help fill that role temporally. I expect you to be my ‘right hand’ in decision making, as you’re well aware, I’m no diplomat; no do I want to be.” He smiled. “I’ll be about trying to get some stuff done on the Bridge and assisting when I can…” added Samuel. He figured he’d be a little bit of everywhere over coming hours.
“Well, as they say ‘that’s that’. Questions?” Sam would stay in the room and answer any questions that arise, and allowed the officers to depart at their leisure when they were ready; he wanted them to have as much time as possible.

Important OOC Note:
This is the first attempt at adding a ‘player decided outcomes/actions’ aboard the Cold Harbor. Each Senior Officer has been given a set of tasks for their areas, there is no way that all may be accomplished, or even most of them. It is up to the individual ‘simmer’ to decide which systems should be repaired and which items should be stowed in time. The decisions made may/will come into play during the Sim, and effect how things occur and unfold.
Depending on the amount of ‘issues’ given to each simmer will affect how much can be done. If you were given;
3 options – 1 may be completed to 100%, another to 25%.
4 options – 1 may be completed to 100%, another to 50% or two to 25%
5 options – 1 may be completed to 100%, another to 75% is available to be used
6+ options – 2 may be completed to 100%, another 50% is available to be used
If you have questions on this, or anything, please feel free to contact me.

Posted by Lieutenant Tam Grax Location: Observation LoungeTam went and took a seat and waited for the Colonel to start the meeting, which he didn't have to wait long. The Colonel started off with there had been a change of plans and that we've been given 36 hours to get the ship repaired enough so that it could be space worthy and ready to depart ~Impossible~ He thought to himself He could empathically sense the Colonel was not happy with the decision, neither was anyone else in the room, himself included. Part of his attention turned to the Holographic image the Colonel brought up as he continued to explain what it is we are supposed to do, mission wise Turning his eyes back to the Colonel as he started handing out repair assignments, he got the sense the repair list was rather lengthy. By the time the Colonel had reached him, the list had been more lengthy than he had ever imagined, quite a bit more “Mr. Same thing, make a list, get done what you can.”As he didn't have a PADD with him, he began to wish that he had brought one. He made a mental list of what needed to be done and began prioritizing them in their importance. He nodded at the Colonel as he paused "Yes, Sir" he would say before addressing the Doctor, giving her a list of things to be done/repaired As the Colonel addressed the Romulan, Lt D'nal and spoke of the shields being down, he glanced over to the romulan officer, thinking that the shields would be under his area but then again, perhaps not The Colonel finally finished with the repair duties and then asked if there was any questions. He shook his head slightly, no questions coming to mind at this time. He sat there, waiting to see if anyone else had any questions

Posted by Lieutenant Branson Tyler [Pervious post can be located at ‘ Security Transporter Room: New Crew Check-In’; Page 02; Reply #21 ] Branson had walked in to the meeting; he was in dispose. He was collecting information on the new arrivals. Looking for things that would assist with the Cold Harbor repairs. He was mid way in to the meeting when he arrived. Branson got his additional orders to now act as an XO for the mean time. He will take this job and do his best to accommodate for every one on the ship.
He had no emotions to speak of, he was just not born with them or if he had any, early in life he was robbed of them. Also with the classified somewhat information that his brain is enhanced may have balanced out or contour his inability to feel. The ‘institute’ had trained him to use his lack of emotion to see both sides of a story. Have no bias and understand and choose based on logic and human gut instincts.
Yes. Sir, well more of a suggestion; perhaps we could call assistance to our new arrivals. The 8472 and the ‘Drak’ may have technology or solutions that could assist us to make our deadlines. For the mean time I have background in Research and Development. I may be able to assist with power to the Cold Harbor but if you need me on Command Deck, I will remain to relay orders. Colonel. He said in a professional manner.
He had this ability to be equally stoic as a Vulcan and yet appeared to express emotions that he doesn’t have when needed. He carried a PADD that he pulled up some references on the Terrasect of the ‘Drak’ encounters. Also thought since both aliens had many similarities may have a different out look then those in this realm or reality.

She knew that sickbay was a mess, and had been planning on fixing it with more help and more time. She ponders for a moment. "Sir, the biobeds would be the first priority. Staff arrivals isn't really under my control, but do I have an inventory list right here, with some notes as to what we are missing. If someone with engineering ability isn't too busy, I'd really appreciate their help in getting the biobeds online. The surgical suites aren't as important as biobeds, so we can fix them en route if need be."She slides the list she had made toward the colonel.

She would start on the impulse engines then thrusters followed by emergency maneuvering ability she thought for a moment. The navigational systems are ‘iffy’ but working so I will make that last and start the repairs on the deflector dish. Well thats the plan of attack she thought to her self. Colonel Grant was wraping up the meeting and asked if anyone had questions. " No Sir, permission to get started sir" She said and waited for him to dismiss her.

(OCC Note: Please don’t forget to do this so we know where you are around the ship, again, as all ‘Main Story’ posts will be on this single thread -->) Location: Observation Lounge
The Colonel looked at Mr. Grax as he gave him his list of issues, as if readying the young Lieutenant’s mind, Samuel gave him a “yeah, I know” type of look. Although he was well aware that he was a telepath, it was important for him not to be treated special; so he gave the body language he would have given any crewmember.
As the Mr. Tyler spoke up, Sam couldn’t help but smile “You see, that’s exactly what I’m talking about…” he said to his Acting Executive Officer (AXO) “That’s a good idea. My soldier mentality gets tunnel vision from time to time.” He smiled “Okay, see if our guest 8472 guest, Sabal, is able to help with some things; if I recall she ‘minored in engineering’…” Knowing that the majority of Sabal’s jacket was ‘classified’, he couldn’t let on to much about her previous duties, assignments and skills. “I’ll check with our ‘Drak’ guest Ann, and see if she’s willing to help.” He nodded thankfully.
If there was a more important area aboard a warship then the weapon systems, it was their Sickbay; Sam knew this all to well. It pained him more, then to see the wounded Cold Harbor’s Hull, to know the condition Sickbay was in. As the Sabina mentioned that she didn’t really have control over her ‘staff’s arrival’, Sam grinned and interjected “Maybe not directly, but you do know someone who could pull a few ‘strings’ or send a ‘raiding party’.” Hinting at himself. He nodded as she continued.
“Chief,” said the Colonel, as he looked back over to his Engineering Chief “As if you weren’t already stretched, please assign a few engineers to Sickbay to help the Doctor.” He reached over and picked up the PADD that she slid to him, he scrolled through it; there were a lot of items on it. He raised an eyebrow, “ This may be your lucky day Doctor.” He snapped his head around, to look at his CSEC “Major, assemble a Security Detail. The medical transport ‘Merkinzie’ is anchored on the other side of this depot.” He added a few commands onto the PADD he had “Go get the Doctor her medical supplies; everything that you can get your hands on.”
The PADD contained an emergency CRV Fleet order granting them permission to ‘immediately obtain, remove and assume control of any and all items listed on this document in accordance with CRV Security Regulations’; The Colonel signed it personally. “Major, just remember, no killing…” he smiled as he spoke. “It’s pretty much beg, borrow, steal people; lets get it done.”
Sam looked around the room, there were still a few officers that had questions, but he dismissed those that were ready to get started. Although the crew was hand picked, for each of their special abilities; reports only told so much of the story. After just a few minutes, and this unusual way of starting out, Colonel Grant found that he was actually feeling better then he had been moments ago.

OOC Note:
Excellent prompts! That’s what I like to see!
Regarding the added use of Sabal and Ann to the repairs, please work with them via PMs/emails to see what they are able to do. They will be able to allow additional items to be repaired, however, again, NOT everything can be repaired on the lists given. Consider Sabal and Ann, if they are able to or chose to, as adding an additional '100%' that may be distributed amongst your repair list.
Just before ‘departure’, completion reports will be asked to be turned in so I know which systems were working and which are not.
Again, tis a great start, keep it up!

Posted by First Lieutenant Bob Murkeye Location: Observation LoungeBob sat and listened to the Colonel, as well as the statements from the rest of the officers, he kept notes on his repair PADD as everyone spoke while stroking his forehead. After everyone was finished he said “I agree Sir, there isn’t an extension cord that will reach to our destination so I will start on the warp core to get main power to our main systems, then move on to back-ups. I will do my best to get as much running as possible in the time allotted.” He turned to Col. Grant cleaned his eyes with his tongue and added. “I would like everyone that has any experience in basic engineering to be put to work; someone who had woodshop class in high school qualifies. If you don’t have a job for them, send them to me and I’ll put them to work.” Then he turned to the rest of the staff and said. “Lieutenant Grax, D’Nal, and Saito I will send you two extra engineering teams each to help you on your assignments, also Doctor Jackson I will send you an engineering as well to help in sickbay, please let me know if you need any more help.”He thought for a second, “I don’t have any questions at the moment, if you’ll excuse me, I have a lot of work to do” Bob climbed off his bar stool and started for Engineering. Posted by Lieutenant Tam Grax Location: Observation Lounge He caught the look from the Colonel as if he knew what he had thought. This surprised him a little as he did not feel the Colonel to be a telepath, or a Betazoid. He then thought to himself that the Colonel may have seen it in his facial expression Reading the Colonel's body language and facial expression, the Colonel knew he is a Betazoid but did not feel he required special attention that most people gave his race. Most people were almost afraid to be around a Betazoid, for fear they would automatically read their mind. Any sane, normal Betazoid would not do such a thing without permission. He wanted people to feel comfortable and at ease when he was around. Granted, he may "treat" himself to a thought or two once in a while but he would not make it a habit He re-focused back on the meeting as the Colonel was finishing up talking with the Counselor, whom he made Acting First Officer. Strange, that a counselor would achieve such an esteemed position but it was not entirely out of the out of the realm of possibility. The Colonel mentioned getting help from their Drak guest, Ann It took him a moment to realize who the "guest is: the hateful one in the hangar bay, the one that was throwing such intense feelings of malice and hatred, especially toward the Security Chief. He wondered what would cause such intense, and harmful feelings especially in his case, toward the Security Chief. Perhaps they got into a disagreement over something or someone in a previous assignment or the Security chief looked like someone "Ann" hated where she came from. He didn't know but it was not his concern He heard someone address him and that snapped him out of his internal thoughts. It took a mere moment to realize it was the fishy engineering chief. After he said that he would send a couple of engineering teams to assist with repairs, he gave a nod and a bit of a smile "Thank you, Chief. That would be welcome, helpful and appreciated" then watched as he left the lounge to get started He got up himself and started to head for the exit to get started himself. Then some last minute inquiries ran through his mind and he paused, turning back to the Colonel "Colonel, with your permission, I'd like to contact the base and have them send a full compliment of Quantum and tri-cobalt torpedoes since we have none at this time. Also, I have heard rumor of some new torpedoes being developed and was wondering if you heard anything about Phased Plasma Torpedoes, Transphasic Torpedoes, or Gravimetic Torpedoes?"He waited for the Colonel to respond, stepping to the side in case someone else wished to exit OOC: Thanks to Wikipedia for their list of different torpedoes

Ether way he would have many other choices to take, however assistance of their guest would greatly help the Cold Harbor.
